The first thing to ask a manufacturer about blister packs is why? Why make them out of such high density plastic that is hermetically sealed? I often wonder what tools other people might use to open them. I myself have used sheet metal shears (much success) razor knives (stitches) knives (broken blade) and scissors. If the product was packed in a box my fingernail would suffice to slice the tape... The next question would be directed toward the advertising agency that thought this was a good idea. So, Mr. Adman why blister packs? Did you think it through or did you just want to wave shiny baubles in front of uniformed shoppers eyes? I know it may not seem like it at times, but we are adults and the majority of dollars being spent are being spent by adults. Really, we can interpret the picture and text on a box to determine if the item is what we need. An idea here, maybe if the product in the blister pack were better quality it wouldn’t need to be shown off to sell. Some facts to consider. Boxes
with a eco friendly ink can biodegrade rapidly, plastic cannot. What can you as a consumer do? Easy, do not buy products in blister packs. If that is the only choice then buy the product and send a letter to the manufacturer. In addition notify ecoZombie and we will add that manufacturer to our action list. We are small and hardly noticeable now but someday... And of course BOYCOTT THE BLISTER PACK! Ted
